Triple West Medical are currently seeking an experienced Consultant Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeon for a substantive post.

The Trust have over 10,000 staff offering comprehensive range of acute and community services over a number of sites to over 1 million people. You will have excellent clinical skills and expected to be active in the teaching and supervision of all multi-disciplinary staff.

The service is delivered through a hub and spoke model. The hub is at the main Hospital in with spokes at two other locations. Each site has a staffed oral & maxillofacial outpatient department providing an outpatient, ambulatory service and day case service to its catchment population. Specialty multidisciplinary clinics i.e. head and neck cancer and facial deformity are also held in the spoke units. All patients requiring an overnight stay, all head and neck cancer cases and all trauma and emergency care is centralised.

Brief Duties/Responsibilities

- Provide and co-ordinate an effective oral and maxillofacial service and to develop a sub-specialty interest that compliments the department. They are also expected to take part in all departmental activities, including on-call, audit and teaching
- Expected to participate in on call commitments and undertake emergency procedures
- Expected to be involved with the General Manager and Clinical Director in the compilation, implementation and monitoring of the business plan for the oral and maxillofacial service
- Must be dually qualified with full GMC and GDC registration with a license to practice and hold specialist listing in the GMC Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery Register
- To provide consultant level oral and maxillofacial service on call duties (1 in 6)
- To perform independent elective and emergency operating including day case surgery
- To undertake specialty clinics and participate as a consultant with special interest in the management of skeletal malocclusions and trauma and secondary deformity
- Cover for colleagues' annual leave and other authorised absence
- Any responsibility which relates to a special interest
- Professional supervision and management of junior medical staff including the observance of local employment and human resource policies and procedures
- Responsibilities for carrying out teaching, examination and accreditation duties as required and contributing to undergraduate, postgraduate and continuing medical education activity, locally and nationally

Our Client is happy to issue Certificate of Sponsorships to suitably qualified overseas doctors. Duel GMC and GDC registration and relevant experience is essential for this position
