Triple West Medical are currently seeking an experienced Consultant in Emergency Medicine for a substantive role, but may also consider a FTC Locum Consultant for 12 months min.
The Trust have over 10,000 staff offering comprehensive range of acute and community services over a number of sites to over 1 million people. You will have excellent clinical skills and the ability to lead on the shop floor. You will be expected to be active in the teaching and supervision of all multi-disciplinary staff.

The Emergency Department at the site currently sees in excess of 60,000 attendances per year and will join a 15 consultant on-call rota and have a flexible approach to job planning to support service requirements. Our on-site consultant cover is from 8am-11pm weekdays and 9am-10pm on weekends.
The post holder must have:
- Completed Higher Specialist Training in Emergency Medicine or evidence of equivalent competency
- Entry on the General Medical Council (GMC) Specialist Register via one of the following: .Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) (the proposed CCT date must be within 6 months of the interview) .Certificate of Eligibility for Specialist Registration (CESR)
- Full GMC Registration
- Provider status at ALS, ATLS and either PALS or APLS
- High level of clinical experience and competence in Emergency Medicine and must have FRCEM
Clinical Duties:
- To provide immediate review of emergency patients including paediatric patients
- To stabilise and manage patients attending the A&E department
- To carry out regular board rounds to ensure clinical excellence and efficient patient flow within the A&E 4-hour standard
- To develop emergency services, liaising with other departments including Paediatrics, Ambulatory Care, Psychiatry, Rehabilitation and Community Care, and developing speciality teams and fast-track services
- To work closely with GP colleagues for admissions avoidance & full and appropriate use of ambulatory care
- To take part in the A&E Consultant on-call rota with colleagues
- The appointee will be expected to cover for colleagues during planned and unplanned leave
- Support our ambulatory services
- Responsibility for the governance of A&E paediatric services, ensuring effective and efficient collaboration with Paediatric colleagues
