We have been assigned by one of the UK's more prestigious NHS Trusts to help them recruit a Consultant in Care of the Elderly on either a Substantive or an NHS Fixed Term basis for 12 months to join their successful department.

At the site you'll be working at is a pioneering hospital who are responsible for acute and community health services, a specialist hospital for acute surgery and in fact is where the world's first IVF baby was delivered. In fact, one reason for their successful CQC rating is their inclusivity and teamwork.
The successful appointee will be asked to fulfil various duties, such as: post holder will continue to provide established inpatient care for older people as well as work towards the development of new and innovative geriatric services, encouraged to contribute their own vision for service improvement and how best they can work with the trust to help deliver this, establishing robust geriatric services is a trust goal and interested successful candidates will be given appropriate time and support to contribute to this. Potential frailty service expansion will incorporate acute services such as in-reach into the emergency department and rapid access clinics as well as specialist inpatient care, opportunity to work and develop personal interests in specific areas across any of the many geriatric subspecialties, deliver high quality patient care in acute inpatient, outpatient and community settings. You may have dedicated in-patient ward responsibility, successful appointee will have the opportunity if desired to clinically and educationally supervise junior doctor trainees who will be supporting the care of your inpatients & to take part in regular medical audit as part of SPA commitment and to use the outcomes of medical audit to improve the care for patients in the Trust and local healthcare economy.
