Our client based in a stunning town in North West England is looking for a committed Consultant who specialises in Histopathology on either a substantive or NHS Fixed Term basis. This Trust is located in one of the most outstandingly beautiful countryside's in Northern England.
Any applicant who is unable for personal reasons, to work full-time will be eligible to be considered for the post. If such a person is appointed, modification of the job content will be discussed on a personal basis with the Trust in consultation with consultant colleagues.
The successful post holder will join a team of 10.35 Consultant Histopathologists, 2 Consultant Haematologists, 4 Consultant Microbiologists and 2 Consultant Biochemists. The department is recognised for 4 Cellular pathology STs and is also supported by 1 Senior Clinical Fellow. All trainee posts are approved by the Royal College of Pathologists.
The successful post holder will have the following:
• Primary Medical Degree
• FRCPath ( or equivalent qualification)
• Experience in all aspects of histopathology and non-gynae cytology (there are opportunities to develop special interests).
• Registered with the General Medicine Council (with a license to practice)
• Applicants that are non-UK trained, will be required to show evidence of equivalence to the UK CCT
Additional information
• The Department of Cellular Pathology is UKAS accredited. The Cellular Pathology department participates in relevant external quality assurance (EQA) schemes in immunohistochemistry, non-gynae cytology, andrology and core histopathology.
• There is no out of hours commitment.
