Applications are invited for a Consultant Microbiologist to join a busy, innovative and friendly team at a Trust based in South East of England.
Our client is looking for a forward-thinking, enthusiastic candidate to join the team and work to deliver consultant led, efficient, safe and patient centered best practice.
Applicants to the post must hold full and specialist registration (with a license to practice) with the General Medical Council (GMC) (or be eligible for registration within six months of interview).
The successful candidate will also have the following:
• FRCPath or evidence of equivalent qualification
• Wide experience in all aspects of Clinical Microbiology and Infection Prevention and Control
• Effective communicator, able to work in a multi-disciplinary team
The appointee will join the existing three Consultant Medical Microbiologists as a replacement for a leaving colleague, to share the provision of the clinical Microbiology and Infection Control service across the Trust as part of the development of a multi-disciplinary team approach to care within the specialty.
Our client is particularly interested in candidates with an interest in difficult asthma, interstitial lung disease or Bronchiectasis. Other interests that compliment those of the existing consultants would also be welcome.
The hospital is based in a beautiful location with many areas of outstanding natural beauty that includes the medieval heathland and forests of the High Weald. It is often referred to as ‘The Sunshine Coast' with it being regularly top of the UK list for locations that enjoy the most hours of sunshine in the UK.
