Our client, a prestigious NHS Trust Hospital, is eagerly seeking an experienced and dedicated Consultant Physician in Respiratory Medicine to help enhance the delivery of both in-patient and out-patient services. The in-patient work is both General and Respiratory Medicine whereas the out-patient service is entirely Respiratory.

The Department provides a wide range of core Respiratory services and is supported by 2 lung cancer nurses, 1 TB nurse and 3 Respiratory nurses. The aim of this post is to expand the Consultant led cover, improve the the effectiveness and quality of care, increased bronchoscopy capacity and supporting our one-stop lung cancer service.

As a Consultant, you will join 3 existing consultants to manage existing in-patients on a 30 bed Respiratory Ward including daily ward rounds, Bronchoscopy / Thoracoscopy out-patient clinics, non-respiratory ward in-reach as well as out-patient clinics including urgent cancer referrals.

The Trust itself serves a population of approximately 360,000 people and is committed to delivering high quality patient care.

The position is made up of 10PAs including a 1:16 on-call commitment to the General Medicine rota. Of the 10PAs, 2 SPAs are included. The job plan is subject to review upon successful appointment.

The position offers an excellent basic salary of £75,249 - £101,451 (depending on experience) and you will be given up to 50% banding payments. You will also be rewarded with pay enhancements for any out-of-hours or shift work that you do. You will be automatically enrolled onto the NHS Superannuation Scheme and will be given relocation assistance if necessary.
