Consultant Radiologist (Thoracic Imaging) - Permanent position in Calderdale

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Consultant Radiologist with an interest in Thoracic Imaging to join a prestigious hospital in West Yorkshire.

Our client, a reputable NHS Hospital in West Yorkshire, is seeking a part time or full time Consultant Radiologist with an interest in Thoracic Imaging with a wide range of experience.

The Radiology Department is currently undergoing expansion and there is a need to for an additional Consultant to support cross sectional imaging as well as Thoracic Imaging. The successful candidate will be expected to support the 11 existing consultants in providing excellent levels of care to patients. The Division is committed to the development of the extended role to facilitate service delivery within Diagnostic Imaging, and to allow the Consultants to devote more time to clinical issues.

The Department has state-of-the-art facilities including brand new CT scanners, Mammomat devices as well as MRI, Screening and Ultrasound equipment. The site also has Isotope Imaging and Vascular screening equipment. There are currently 11 Consultants who are supported by nurses, healthcare assistants, radiographers, porters and administration staff.

The current job plan has 10 PAs with 7.3 dedicated to Direct Clinical Care, 2 PAs for Supporting Professional Activities and 0.7 PAs for On Calls. The job plan is subject to review upon successful appointment.

Applicants must be on the GMC Specialist Register or be within 6 months of obtaining their CCT.

The position offers an excellent basic salary of £75,249 - £101,451 (depending on experience) as well as offering banding payments and annual remuneration bonuses. You will be rewarded with pay enhancements for any out-of-hours or shift work that you do. You will also be given the opportunity to be enrolled onto the NHS pension scheme.
