Consultant in Respiratory Medicine – Permanent role based in the Republic of Ireland

The Hospital offers excellent opportunities for Respiratory Medicine Consultants in a friendly, busy, forward thinking department. The department is supported by a superb nursing and paramedical team and has a strong team working and teaching ethos.

The Hospital is a 255 Bed hospital providing acute services for the local population of 86,000 people (2006 census). The Hospital also provides services to two other of the bordering areas, increasing the catchment area up to 135,000.
Acute hospital services within the Hospital amalgamated January 12th 2007 following a major capital development to facilitate the transfer of A&E, General Surgery and Oncology services from another local Hospital (Cost €30m).

The Obstetric Department, South Tipperary General Hospital provides outreach clinics in two local towns.
The Hospital signed a learning agreement with University College Cork in 2006 for the education of Medical Students; approval is awaited for teaching hospital status from the Department of Health and Children.
The Hospital is surrounded by picturesque villages, bustling market towns with excellent schools and rolling countryside. The city has excellent road and travel links with easy access to the Hospital and other areas of Ireland.

***Permanent contract
***Salary €70,000 - €105,000 (dependant on experience)
***Location: Republic of Ireland, Munster
***Must be IMC Registered
***The team includes: Consultants, middle grades, and junior doctors.
